Melina & Nefeli

Melina (3 years old) and her daughter Nefeli (1 year old) were originally trapped for TNR, but their incredibly sweet nature and the dangerous spot they lived in — literally on the street — made us think twice about returning them there. So instead, they became fosters.

For 3 long years, Melina was elusive, surviving outdoors while exhausting herself with litter after litter, only to see her little ones get lost each time. Nefeli grew up more sociable, recklessly galloping across the street to greet her carers. Both deserved better — and now, they finally have safety.

Today, they live together in foster care at a psychologist’s office, alongside Melina’s son and Nefeli’s brother Oscar, as well as his best friend Derek. The girls join every session, offering their calm presence — true little therapy cats!

Nefeli is outgoing and curious, eager to meet everyone. Melina is more reserved, needing time to trust, but her love runs deep. She still dotes on both her children as if they were kittens. The two are bonded, affectionate, and full of love to give.
